Phil Edge Travel Advisory
I design and book highly personalized travel through Fora Travel, with a focus on trips that are thoughtfully conceived, well paced, and executed with care. My work begins well before the reservation: understanding the traveler, shaping the right destination strategy, selecting hotels and experiences with judgment, and building an itinerary that feels personal rather than generic.
My perspective is grounded in the places and styles of travel I know best from firsthand experience: the European Alps, France and Italy, wine and culinary travel, distinctive European cities, luxury cruising, and active, experience-rich itineraries.
Luxury Travel Design Summary:
My travel point of view is built on deep personal experience, hospitality instincts, and operating discipline. I began skiing at Aspen/Snowmass, have been a homeowner in Park City since 2012, and have skied extensively across Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and France. I have also traveled throughout nearly every major city and wine region of France and built meaningful travel experiences across Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, England, Ireland, and the Nordics.
Travel has been part of my life since childhood, when my parents took our family to Munich, Bavaria, Zurich, and Greece. My father's international role at Johnson & Johnson gave us access to local hosts and unusually personal experiences, which shaped my belief that the best travel is not just about seeing a place — it is about being invited deeper into it.
That perspective is reinforced by my background in hospitality and operations. I spent five years as a chef, worked in hotels and restaurants, and later built an executive career in high-growth technology companies focused on growth strategy, operations, and customer experience.
Where I Add Value:
Alpine & Ski Travel
I bring firsthand knowledge of U.S. and European mountain travel: village feel, hotel location, rail and car logistics, mountain restaurants, apres-ski culture, and the differences between Swiss, Austrian, Italian, French, and U.S. destinations. I help clients choose the right mountain for the season, purpose, and pace of the trip.
European Cultural, Culinary & City Travel
France and Italy are the deepest threads in my European travels, with Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, England, Ireland, and the Nordics adding breadth and contrast. I focus on regional character, restaurants, guides, hotels, neighborhoods, access, and enough space for a trip to feel lived rather than scheduled.
Food, Wine & Distinctive Access
I am especially interested in the moments that make travel feel personal: the right market visit, producer tasting, village meal, private guide, museum access, or restaurant choice after a long travel day. The goal is not generic luxury; it is a trip rooted in place and matched to the traveler.
Luxury Cruising
My cruise focus is smaller, high-touch experiences — particularly yacht-style and expedition-oriented operators where ship, service, itinerary, and ports all matter. These trips can work especially well for travelers who want depth, comfort, strong service, and fewer logistics without constant unpacking and repacking.
